Runable, a Bengaluru-based AI startup, has raised $21 million in a Series A round co-led by Susquehanna Venture Capital and Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Together Fund and Array VC. The all-equity round valued the company at $65 million post-investment, according to co-founder and CEO Umesh Kumar.
Founded in 2025 by Kumar and co-founder Saksham Sarda, Runable originally built browser-based AI infrastructure before pivoting after users began requesting help creating websites and presentations. The company’s AI agent now lets users build websites and apps through natural language prompts while handling deployment and analytics. Kumar said Runable is expanding beyond building tools into “growth” services, including running ad campaigns, managing social media, and optimizing visibility across AI chatbots, aiming to help small business owners acquire customers without assembling separate tools themselves.
Runable has grown to 1.7 million registered users, with the U.S., U.K., and Japan as key markets, and reported users consumed more than 1 trillion tokens over the past 90 days. The company currently operates at negative gross margins due to subsidized AI usage, though Kumar expects falling inference costs to improve economics. Competing against agents from Anthropic, OpenAI, and coding platforms like Cursor and Replit, Runable is positioning itself around outcomes for nontechnical small business owners rather than software development itself.
