Physical AI Perception Tech Developer Lyte Raises $165M in Series C Funding with $1.6B Valuation

Insider Brief

  • Lyte raised $165 million in Series C funding led by Maverick Silicon at a $1.6 billion post-money valuation, bringing total funding since 2021 to $272 million.
  • The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company said it will use the financing to scale production of its sensing silicon and LyteVision platform, expand AI and perception capabilities and increase deployments with robotics and industrial customers.
  • Lyte said it has entered production and begun shipping to customers in inspection logistics and manufacturing while Maverick Silicon managing partner Andrew Homan has joined the company’s board.

Lyte has raised $165 million in Series C funding at a $1.6 billion post-money valuation as the physical AI perception company moves its sensing platform into production deployments.

According to Lyte, Maverick Silicon led the round, with participation from Fidelity Management & Research Company, Atreides Management, Key1 Capital, Ora Global and other existing and new investors. Fidelity led Lyte’s Series B. The latest financing brings total funding since the company’s 2021 founding to $272 million.

The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company said it will use the funding to scale production of its sensing silicon and LyteVision platform, advance its AI and perception capabilities and expand deployments with robotics companies and industrial customers.

Lyte develops custom silicon, multimodal sensors and spatial software designed to help robots determine where they are and what is moving around them. The company said it owns the technology stack from the underlying silicon through the spatial data produced by its systems.

“Physical AI has a sensing problem before it has a model problem,” co-founder and CEO Alexander Shpunt said in the announcement. “A robot cannot act safely on data that does not faithfully describe the world. We build the entire perception foundation, from custom silicon to the spatial data our systems produce. This financing will put LyteVision into more robots, across more environments, faster.”

Since emerging from stealth in January 2026, Lyte said it has entered production and begun shipping to robotics customers in inspection, logistics and manufacturing.

Its LyteVision platform combines 4D coherent vision, high-resolution imaging and inertial sensing on a synchronized timeline. Built on Lyte’s own silicon, the system measures position and motion directly rather than reconstructing those signals entirely in software, according to the company. Lyte said the approach addresses latency, calibration drift and other issues that can arise when robotics companies assemble perception systems from separate off-the-shelf components.

Lyte also plans to expand its workforce over the next year across silicon, software, optics, manufacturing, operations and go-to-market roles, including senior leadership positions.

The company was founded by former Apple and PrimeSense engineers whose earlier work included 3D perception technologies used in Microsoft Kinect and later in Face ID. In addition to the funding, Andrew Homan, managing partner at Maverick Silicon, has joined Lyte’s board of directors.
