Thread AI Secures $20M Series A to Transform Enterprise AI Workflows

Insider Brief

  • Thread AI raised $20M in Series A funding led by Greycroft to scale its composable AI infrastructure platform, Lemma, which enables enterprises to design and deploy flexible AI-powered workflows.
  • Founded by former Palantir executives, Thread AI addresses the gap between rigid pre-built tools and costly custom solutions, offering scalable, secure infrastructure for dynamic enterprise needs.
  • Lemma integrates AI models, data, and automation into end-to-end workflows, delivering 70% faster process response times and 250–500% growth in AI adoption among early customers.

PRESS RELEASE — Thread AI, a leader in composable AI infrastructure, announced it has raised $20 million in Series A funding led by Greycroft, with participation from Index Ventures, Scale Venture Partners, Plug-and-Play, Meritech Capital, and Homebrew. Founded by former Palantir executives Angela McNeal and Mayada Gonimah, Thread AI helps enterprises design, deploy, and scale AI-powered workflows through its core platform, Lemma.

Despite the rapid adoption of AI, many organizations struggle integrating AI into complex, evolving environments. They often must choose between rigid, pre-built AI tools that don’t fit their workflows, or costly custom solutions requiring extensive engineering. Thread AI addresses this gap with composable infrastructure that connects AI models, data, and automation into adaptable, end-to-end workflows aligned with each organization’s specific needs.

“Companies today face a frustrating dilemma when implementing AI, either settle for rigid, pre-built applications that force them to fit their business logic into a predefined structure, or invest heavily in talent, infrastructure, and engineering resources to build custom AI workflows from scratch,” said Angela McNeal, Co-Founder and CEO of Thread AI. “Thread AI offers a flexible platform that lets organizations build AI workflows suited to their operations — without compromising scalability or security.”

Unlike traditional RPA, ETL, or workflow engines that mirror human workflows or require large infrastructure investments, Thread AI’s Lemma platform allows enterprises to rapidly prototype and deploy event-driven, distributed AI workflows and agents. Lemma supports unlimited AI models, APIs, and applications all within a single platform built with enterprise-grade security. This speeds up deployment, reduces operational burden, and simplifies infrastructure, while maintaining governance, observability, and seamless AI model upgrades. As a result, Thread AI equips enterprises with the flexibility to keep up with today’s rapidly changing AI ecosystem, and the cross-functionality to unlock the power of AI across their entire organization.

“Enterprises need more than AI-powered apps — they need a secure, scalable infrastructure that evolves with their business,” said Mark Terbeek, Partner at Greycroft. “Thread AI provides a powerful, adaptable platform that helps organizations implement AI at scale.”

As companies shift from isolated automation tools to fully integrated AI workflows, they’re seeking horizontal platforms that combine the best elements of RPA, ETL, and orchestration tools. Lemma users report a 70% improvement in process response times, along with significant efficiency gains as AI-powered workflows reduce operational bottlenecks. Early customers have expanded their AI implementations by 250% to 500%, demonstrating Thread AI’s scalability and practical impact.
