Opera Launches Neon, an AI-Centric Browser for Power Users

Opera has officially launched Neon, a new AI-first browser designed to transform everyday browsing into agentic workflows. Initially previewed in May, Neon is now rolling out invites at a subscription price of $19.99 per month. Krystian Kolondra, EVP Browsers at Opera, said the product was built for heavy AI users and aims to redefine browsing around automation and intelligent assistance.

Neon introduces features such as Neon Do, which can summarize blogs, post to Slack, or retrieve details from past activity, and Cards, modular repeatable prompts that allow users to create custom AI workflows. A new workspace system called Tasks combines AI chats with tab groups, enabling contained projects. With Neon, Opera enters the competitive space alongside Perplexity’s Comet and The Browser Company’s Dia, targeting advanced users who want deeper AI integration.
