OpenAI Nears $100B Funding Deal as Valuation Approaches $850B

OpenAI is reportedly close to finalizing a funding round exceeding $100 billion that could value the artificial intelligence company at more than $850 billion, according to sources familiar with the negotiations. The deal reflects strong investor confidence despite the company’s ongoing cash burn as it works toward profitability.

Major technology partners including Amazon, SoftBank, Nvidia, and Microsoft are expected to anchor the initial funding tranches, with additional participation from venture capital firms and sovereign wealth funds anticipated later. The company has recently begun testing advertising within ChatGPT for free users as part of broader efforts to expand revenue streams. If completed, the transaction would represent one of the largest capital raises in technology history and further cement OpenAI’s position at the center of the global AI industry.
