Peppy Secures Pre-Seed Funding to Build Coding Platform for Humanoid Robotics

Insider Brief

  • Peppy closed an undisclosed pre-seed funding round to develop a natural-language platform that generates robot software for testing in simulation and execution on physical hardware.
  • Element Ventures led the financing, with participation from Rock Creek Capital, Mana Ventures and Yonder, while Peppy plans to use the capital for platform development, hiring and expansion of its developer ecosystem.
  • The Utah-based startup said its platform depends on underlying robotics skills and foundation models and is seeking partnerships with developers building robotic intelligence and specialized robotics software.

Peppy has closed a pre-seed funding round to develop a platform that lets users generate and test robot software through natural-language promptsto simplify the process of prototyping robot behaviors.

Element Ventures led the financing, with participation from Rock Creek Capital, Mana Ventures and Yonder, according to the Utah-based startup. Peppy did not disclose the size of the round but indicated the new capital will support development of its prompt-to-robotics platform, expansion of its developer ecosystem and hiring.

The company is developing what it describes as a fast-prototyping platform for robotics. Users enter text instructions describing what they want a robot to do, and Peppy generates code intended to execute the task first in simulation and ultimately on physical hardware.

“Building a seamless prompt-to-execution bridge for the physical world is our near-term vision for the future,” founder and CEO Daniel Lambert noted in the announcement. “It is incredibly exciting to see the sheer imagination of people starting to build on our platform.”

Peppy said the performance of its platform will depend on the underlying robotics models and skills available to it. The Silicon Slopes-based company is seeking partnerships with developers building robot intelligence and specialized robotics software that could be integrated into the system.

“The platform is only as good as the underlying skills,” added Lambert. “We want to talk to anyone pushing the boundaries of robotic intelligence, and we are aggressively hiring VLA engineers who want to help us build the future of Physical AI.”
