Neura Acquires Adlatus Robotics to Expand its Physical AI to Professional Cleaning

  • Neura Robotics acquired autonomous cleaning robot maker Adlatus Robotics, adding professional cleaning to its mobile robotics business following its recent acquisition of Bosch Rexroth’s Active Shuttle business.
  • Adlatus has hundreds of autonomous cleaning and sweeping robots deployed across industrial, logistics, healthcare and commercial settings, along with its own navigation software and real-world operating data.
  • Neura plans to add sensors and AI capabilities to Adlatus robots and connect them to Neuraverse, which it is developing as an open physical AI platform for robots from multiple manufacturers and form factors.

Neura Robotics has acquired autonomous cleaning robot maker Adlatus Robotics, expanding its mobile robotics business into professional cleaning.

Although financial terms were not disclosed, Neura Mobile Robots indicated it had acquired 100% of the Ulm, Germany-based company. Neura and Adlatus have worked together under a strategic partnership since September 2025.

Adlatus develops autonomous cleaning and sweeping robots used in industrial, logistics, healthcare and commercial environments. Neura noted Adlatus has hundreds of systems deployed and brings its own navigation software, customer relationships and experience operating robots in real-world cleaning applications.

Neura said it plans to add sensors and AI capabilities to the Adlatus platform and gradually connect the robots to its Neuraverse, a software and AI infrastructure designed to link different types of robots and their capabilities.

“We’re not buying Adlatus just to add another cleaning robot to our portfolio,” Neura Robotics founder and CEO David Reger said in the announcement. “We want to give machines like this a new brain. Cleaning is a massive global labor market and, at the same time, a perfect example of what Physical AI can transform. When a robot doesn’t just navigate its environment but understands what it sees, senses, and needs to do, an entirely new generation of machines emerges. That’s exactly what we’re building the Neuraverse for.”

Neura plans to develop robots that go beyond just meaneuvering along a predetermined route and can recognize different surfaces and types of dirt, assess conditions and select cleaning approaches based on their surroundings. Data from deployed machines could also be used to develop and validate additional capabilities.

Expanding the Neuroverse

Neura said the acquisition does not mean it intends to build a closed ecosystem around its own robots. Instead, the company is positioning Neuraverse as an open physical AI platform that could eventually connect machines from a range of manufacturers and across different robot designs.

Under that approach, makers of cleaning robots, autonomous mobile robots and other systems could potentially connect their hardware to AI models, software tools and other capabilities developed within the Neura ecosystem. Adlatus will serve as both a commercial product platform and a real-world proving ground for that broader strategy.

“Europe has an incredible amount of industrial knowledge,” Reger noted. “We don’t need to reinvent everything – we need to combine the best of what already exists with artificial intelligence and scale it much faster,” Reger says. “That’s exactly what we’re doing. Companies like Adlatus bring decades of experience from the physical world. Neura brings the physical AI infrastructure. When we combine these strengths, we can build an entirely new industry out of Europe.”

Neura announced the acquisition of Bosch Rexroth’s Active Shuttle autonomous mobile robot business earlier this month and the Adlatus addition, the company noted, is another example of its long-term strategy to expand into additional industrial and service applications.

“Our ambition is to take mobile robotics beyond classic material transport,” added Andreas Lindemann, managing director of Neura Mobile Robots GmbH. “Autonomous cleaning is a logical next step in that direction. Looking ahead, we also plan to integrate these solutions into our Fleet Manager, opening up additional applications for existing and new customers alike. With Adlatus, we’re laying the groundwork to grow this business deliberately and, over the long term, establish it as its own product family within our AMR portfolio.”
