Decimal AI, a customer engineering platform for technical support teams, has raised $4 million in seed funding co-led by Khosla Ventures and Kearny Jackson, with participation from Atlassian Ventures, Weekend Fund, and individual backers including former Stripe COO Claire Johnson. The company also introduced its Customer Engineering Platform, designed to bring engineering-level technical understanding into customer support conversations through an AI Support Engineer that investigates code, logs and production data to resolve issues end to end.
Founders Sanjeet Hajarnis and Kevin Raji Cherian, who met at Eightfold AI, said the platform aims to surface evidence directly from a product’s actual behavior rather than relying on secondhand descriptions during support escalations. Hajarnis previously led AI at Eightfold and worked on Facebook’s News Feed ranking systems, while Raji Cherian built Databricks’ vector search product and led infrastructure at Eightfold.
Khosla Ventures founder Vinod Khosla said the platform addresses the rising hidden costs of software support by combining AI with deep code and customer context. Since launching in March 2025, Decimal has been adopted by companies including Granola, Resilinc, Tealium, BuildOps and Lucidworks, with support interaction volume growing 15-fold since early 2026. Resilinc reported cutting resolution times by 62%, while Granola said it now handles double its previous ticket volume. Kearny Jackson’s Sriram Krishnan predicted customer engineering would emerge as its own technology category.
