China’s D-Robotics Raises $400M in Series C Funding to Expand AI Robotics Platform

Insider Brief

  • D-Robotics raised $400 million in Series C funding to expand its Sunrise robotics chips and software platform for AI-powered systems, including humanoid robots.
  • The round included an unnamed global internet company, institutional investors and existing shareholders, while D-Robotics said revenue rose several times year over year in the first half of 2026 and Sunrise chip shipments surpassed 8 million units.
  • Its Sunrise S600 has been adopted by more than 20 embodied AI customers, while the Gravity Program has supported more than 500 robotics developers and the broader platform is used by more than 500 universities and 100,000 developers across over 20 countries.

D-Robotics has raised $400 million in Series C funding to expand its robotics computing chips and software platform for AI-powered robots, including humanoids.

The round included a strategic investment from an unnamed global internet company, along with institutional investors and follow-on investments from existing shareholders, according to D-Robotics. In April, D-Robotics said it had reached $270 million in Series B funding, including a $120 million tranche reported weeks earlier, to expand its embodied AI infrastructure platform.

The company said it plans to use the funding to expand its Sunrise chip portfolio across different computing levels and develop a software plaform for robot developers.

“Together, they form an integrated hardware-software infrastructure for AI robots, supporting every development scenario, from mature robot categories to general-purpose humanoid robots,” the company noted in a blog post announcing the funding.

D-Robotics reported revenue increased several times year over year in the first half of 2026, while cumulative shipments of its Sunrise chips surpassed 8 million units. The company also said its embodied AI business entered mass production and its integrated hardware and software infrastructure completed large-scale validation.

Sunrise S600 Chip

Its Sunrise S600 chip, launched in November 2025 for embodied AI applications, has been adopted by more than 20 customers within six months, according to the company. Those customers include TARS, Spirit AI, X Square Robot, Ubtech, PaXini Tech, Astribot, Fourier and Booster Robotics.

Those deployments span humanoid robots, industrial wheeled robots, flexible manufacturing, embodied AI foundation models and multimodal perception systems. D-Robotics claimed most of those customers have already moved into mass production.

Gravity Program

The company has also upgraded its D-Robotics Gravity Program, which provides support ranging from product development and supply-chain selection to go-to-market strategy and fundraising. D-Robotics said the program has supported more than 500 robotics developers across 10 categories, including open-source humanoids, AI sports coaching, embodied AI models, imaging systems and home companion robots.

More than 500 universities and 100,000 developers across more than 20 countries have built hundreds of robot types using the company’s platform, according to D-Robotics.
