AI assistant startup Zapia has secured new funding that brings its total capital raised to $19.3 million, with Prosus Ventures making its second investment in the company. The financing will support the development and launch of Zapia Max, a next-generation AI assistant designed to autonomously execute real-world digital tasks across browsers and applications while maintaining user permissions and security controls.
Juan Pablo Pereira, CEO of Zapia, said the new system expands the company’s original assistant beyond conversational interaction to full task execution. Zapia Max is designed to navigate websites, manage emails, compare prices across online stores, edit documents, monitor subscriptions, and complete bookings on behalf of users with structured access permissions.
Founded in 2023, Zapia has grown to more than six million users, primarily in Latin America, and plans to use the new capital to expand its team and accelerate AI agent development while exploring potential expansion into Europe and the United States.
