MiiHealth AI Closes Seed Round for an Undisclosed Amount to Reinvent Patient Intake and Give Providers Back Two Hours a Day

Insider Brief

  • MiiHealth AI closed a seed funding round led by Russell Glass, former Headspace CEO and founder of Arteria Capital, with participation from physician angels and digital health founders and operators.
  • The company’s assistant, DAINA, autonomously calls patients before appointments to conduct multi-language clinical intake interviews and writes structured, clinician-ready notes directly into the EHR, saving providers time and expanding care capacity.
  • A cardiology deployment at Mayo Clinic showed DAINA saving over 8 minutes per encounter while maintaining clinical quality and earning high patient trust, and the seed funding will expand engineering teams, specialty protocols, and EHR integrations.

PRESS RELEASE — MiiHealth AI, maker of the first agentic AI medical assistant purpose-built to automate patient intake, announced the closing of a seed funding round for an undisclosed amount led by Russell Glass, former CEO of Headspace and founder of Arteria Capital. The round includes participation from a select group of physician angels, healthcare operators, and digital health founders.

MiiHealth AI’s assistant, DAINA (Dynamic AI Intake and Navigation Agent), autonomously calls patients before their appointments, conducts a natural, multi-turn clinical intake interview in the patient’s preferred language, and writes a structured, clinician-ready note directly into the chart, all without requiring the provider to be present. By shifting intake work upstream and out of the exam room, DAINA prepares the chart before every visit and gives providers back more than two hours a day that would otherwise be spent on repetitive questioning and manual documentation. This additional capacity gives providers the flexibility to spend more time with each patient, as well as to undertake more billable activities.

“This raise fuels our next chapter: a more trustworthy clinical Agent, deeper roots across 70% of the country’s EHR landscape, and a market position that sets a new standard for what AI-driven care looks like,” said Kelvin Summoogum, founder and CEO of MiiHealth AI.

DAINA has already completed successful clinical validation in some of the most demanding environments in medicine. In a large cardiology deployment at Mayo Clinic, the assistant completed agentic intake across hundreds of patients, delivering measurable returns through significant provider time savings per encounter and exceptionally high levels of patient trust and comfort in sharing sensitive health information. Early results showed that patients found DAINA empathetic and easy to use. Providers were able to reclaim significant time from the intake process while maintaining clinical quality.

“MiiHealth AI automates patient intake, one of the most overlooked and painful parts of the clinical workflow,” said Russell Glass, Founder of Arteria Capital and former CEO of Headspace. “Without asking clinicians to change how they practice, MiiHealth saves more than 8 minutes per cardiology encounter at Mayo Clinic, and patients love it. This is the kind of easy-to-implement and scalable win-win that health systems are looking for.”

The MiiHealth AI platform, powered by DAINA and the underlying MediiFlow intake automation engine, includes:

  • Autonomous outbound intake calls that use specialty-specific protocols to capture complete clinical histories and red flags before the visit.
  • Multi-language, voice-based interviews that feel like a conversation rather than a form, improving access and patient engagement across diverse populations.
  • Automatic generation of structured, EHR-ready intake notes mapped to the right clinical fields, giving providers a concise, actionable summary when they open the chart.
  • An integration layer that delivers notes into leading EHRs via HL7v2 and other standards, with full auditability and enterprise-grade security.

Health systems and clinics use MiiHealth AI to reduce pre-visit administrative burden, increase throughput, and unlock more billable visit slots without adding staff, driving a clear return on investment while delivering a calmer, more personal and genuinely delightful patient journey and improving the quality of clinical information captured during intake.

The seed funding will be used to expand engineering and AI teams to broaden DAINA’s specialty protocol catalogue and deepen its clinical reasoning and safety checks, accelerate integrations with major EHRs and health system infrastructure, and grow commercial and customer success teams to support health systems, specialty practices, and virtual-first providers adopting automated intake across multiple departments.

“Intake has been a stubborn bottleneck in healthcare for decades,” added Kelvin Summoogum. “Our vision is that every patient gets a thoughtful, complete intake before they ever see their clinician, and every clinician starts their day with charts that are already prepared. This seed round allows us to scale that vision from several successful clinical validation projects into broad deployment across health systems.”
