Pluto Security, a startup focused on securing how employees build and use AI tools, has emerged from stealth with $42 million in funding. The total includes an $8.5 million seed round led by TLV Partners, with Armis’ founders investing, and a $34 million Series A led by Jump Capital, with participation from Skinos, the venture firm of Check Point co-founder Shlomo Kramer, and Ansa Capital.
CEO and co-founder Shahar Bahat said new AI tools can appear inside company environments within two hours of release, and that about 60% of the risks Pluto detects stem from tools vibe-coded by non-developers, with finance teams the largest source. She said every proof of concept the company has run uncovered malicious components.
Pluto’s software monitors employees’ AI tools, the skills, extensions and MCP servers they rely on, and the apps and agents being built. Using lightweight models on endpoints, it assesses what an agent is trying to do and can intervene in real time, either stopping an action or injecting instructions into the session.
Bahat said Pluto began selling in April and has passed $2 million in annual recurring revenue with more than 30 enterprise customers, including Oscar Health and Sixt. The funding will support product development, security research and U.S. expansion.
