Anthropic Acquires Humanloop Team to Strengthen Enterprise AI Safety and Tooling

Anthropic has acquired the co-founders and most of the team from Humanloop, a London-based startup known for its AI prompt management, model evaluation, and observability platform. The acqui-hire brings Raza Habib, Peter Hayes, Jordan Burgess, and around a dozen engineers and researchers into Anthropic, bolstering its enterprise capabilities in evaluation, monitoring, and compliance for AI systems.

While Humanloop’s assets and IP were not part of the deal, the team’s expertise aligns with Anthropic’s “safety-first” mission and its push to equip enterprise and government clients with reliable AI infrastructure. Humanloop, founded in 2020 as a University College London spinout, served customers such as Duolingo, Gusto, and Vanta. The move comes as Anthropic expands its enterprise footprint with advanced agentic and coding features, longer context windows, and competitive pricing for public-sector adoption.
